The Grand Medin Procession of Kukulu Korale.
On March 2nd, the "Kukulu Korale Maha Perahera" was held with great cultural pride and majesty at the Sri Sumana Gallen Viharaya in Kukulegama, Kalawana. This procession is regarded as a significant event showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the Sabaragamuwa Province.
This traditional pageant was organized under the guidance of the venerable Nidahasgama Kalyana Thero and the leadership Mr.Suranga Somasundara. It was colorfully brought to life with the active participation of the local community.Organized as an act of devotion to Goddess Pattini, this is considered one of the first major processions of the year. Blending dance, music and traditional rituals, it offered a spectacular cultural experience for all attendees.
Events of this nature continue to thrive today as vital milestones that carry Sri Lankan culture and ancient traditions forward from generation to generation.
